 Hercules (1997)

Plot: After Zeus fights and sends the Titans to the underworld, he becomes the ruler of Mount Olympus, home of all greek gods. Hades is sent to rule the underworld, but he makes plans to throw Zeus out of Mount Olympus with the Titans’ help. The three Fates warn him that his plans would be endangered if Hercules, Zeus newborn child, is still around by the time he tries to take over Mount Olympus. Hades sends Pain and Panic to turn Hercules into a mortal and kill him, but they fail in their attempt and leave him on earth with his divine strength to be raised as a human. Hercules grows up but later learns he is the son of gods, and in order to return to Mt. Olympus he must turn into a “true hero”. He is trained by Phil the satyr and becomes the most famous hero in ancient Greece after battling monsters of all kinds. He even saves Mt. Olympus from Hade’s take-over, but he only becomes a god again after he offers to exchange his life in order to save Meg, his love, from Hades’ underworld and shows that a true hero must have a strong heart and not only physical strength.

TV shows and Movies with Greek Mythological References?
I have a project that needs us to bring in a scene/clip from a TV show or movie
that shows something in reference to Greek Mythology.
Examples: ‘From Hell’ A scene where Johnny Depp places the coins over her eyes
and states how the coins are to pay the ferryman.
It doesn’t have to be completely direct, but to the point.
Of course not the common movies like ‘Troy’ ‘Hercules’ ‘Clash of the Titans’
But any help would be fantastic!

The "History Channel" on cable has a Great program called "Clash of the Gods" that has many tells of Greek & Roman Mythology.

Another Johnny Depp one is the Pirates of the Caribbean series when referring to the Kraken, or Calypso.
Harry Potter- Minerva is the head of Gryphendor (his house), Minerva was the Roman equivilant to Athena- Goddess of Wisdom. Her character is just like Athena- strong and wise. Also the three headed dog that falls asleep when played music (Underworld).
Little Mermaid- The tridant that the king has belongs to Posiedon. Anyone with the tridant can rule the oceans…
The new Scorpion King movie, where they search for Zeus’ sword. Which can cut through anything.
Tomb Raider Cradle of Life- Pandora’s Box.
Charmed is always invoving Greek mythology.
